Welcome to the first blog post of the new Seattle Documentary Association website!
SeaDoc is the association with the most dynamic and creative documentary filmmakers from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Created in 2009, we’ve seen the Seattle Documentary Association grow considerably- from a small group of filmmakers to a legitimate community. We host events like Works-In-Progress Screenings, that help filmmakers hone their films and answer their questions about what works and what doesn’t work, Nights Out, a fun time to socialize and to see a cutting edge or special documentary or to hear a controversial speaker together, and of course our annual DocForest.
With the new SeaDoc website, we hope to continue to be a a gathering place for documentary filmmakers online. We really want the SeaDoc website to become an active community! So please share your stories, advice, reviews, events, and especially your documentary news here.
“Welcome, come on in,” is what I hope you hear at all our events. Our parties can be crowded, Nights Out can be intimate, but you are always welcome.
