Winter/Spring 2019
SIFF Doc Film Ambassador Program Internship
Coordinate logistics, planning and communications around guest documentary filmmakers visiting SIFF and the SeaDoc Ambassadors committee for networking events and dinners during festival.

Interns Gain:

  • Experience with project management, marketing and film industry networking
  • Exposure to documentary filmmakers and filmmaking community in Seattle, nationally and internationally, including attending select events
  • Credit for organizational role in project partnering with SIFF

 

Spring/Summer 2019
SeaDoc Portrait Production Internships
Produce a series of short portrait documentaries with a production team about local doc filmmakers in Seattle/Washington.

Interns Gain:

  • Experience with documentary film planning, producing, editing and exhibition
  • Exposure to documentary filmmakers and filmmaking community in Seattle
  • Opportunity for film credit on work that will be distributed through SeaDoc and film festival exhibition

 

Summer/Fall 2019 
DocForest Artist Retreat Internships
Support organizing/marketing nationally recognized gathering for doc filmmakers and industry professionals, taking place September 2018 at Icicle Creek Arts Center (Leavenworth, WA).

Interns Gain:

  • Experience with project management, marketing and film industry networking
  • Exposure to documentary filmmakers and filmmaking community in Seattle, including attending DocForest
  • Credit for organizational role in nationally recognized event

 

Fall/Winter 2019
DocCity Conference Internship (focused on racial and cultural equity in film)
Work with Seattle Documentary Association to develop and deliver on strategy, planning, community engagement and logistics of 2020 conference focused on racial and cultural equity in documentary film.

Interns Gain:

  • Experience with project management, community engagement, marketing and film industry networking
  • Exposure to documentary filmmakers and filmmaking community in Seattle, including attending industry events
  • Credit for community engagement, organizing and marketing for the conference

 

2019 (Flexible timeline)
Doc Film Resource Development Internship
Work with Seattle Documentary Association fiscal development team to strategize funding applications, creative and fun benefit events and partnerships, and research around industry fiscal health in partnership with programming and marketing strategies.

Interns Gain:

  • Experience with project management, marketing, grant writing, fundraising and film industry networking
  • Exposure to documentary filmmakers and filmmaking community in Seattle, including attending industry events
  • Credit for role in strategic development, partnerships, raising of funds and marketing for the organization

 

2019 (Flexible timeline)
Film Community Engagement Internship
Work with Seattle Documentary Association, a newly formed 501(c)3 organization with a rich history of bringing doc filmmakers together, in building stronger partnerships in film industry and more equitable outreach in community engagement.

Interns Gain:

  • Experience with project management, marketing and film industry networking
  • Exposure to documentary filmmakers and filmmaking community in Seattle, including attending industry events
  • Credit for role in community engagement, strategic planning and marketing for the organization
