The Black Panther Party in the Emerald City presents: The Dixon Brothers
This short documentary, The Black Panther Party in the Emerald City presents: The Dixon Brothers, is a telling of the story of the Seattle chapter of the Black Panther Party, as told by its founders, The Dixon Brothers. The Seattle chapter was the first chapter formed outside of the state of California and ranked by J. Edgar Hoover as one of the three most dangerous chapters outside of Oakland next to Los Angeles and Chicago.
Director: Tajuan LaBee has a background in both activism and media production shown through his work with different social justice and media organizations throughout the years. One of those organizations was the activist video collective, PepperSpray Productions. This is where he first recorded multiple interviews with Seattle Black Panther co-founder, Aaron Dixon, and was asked to do a documentary about the Seattle chapter of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense.
